ČStS sdílí informaci o nově vypsané pozici na Univerzitě Helsinky:
The University of Helsinki has opened calls to recruit a Postdoctoral Researcher and a Doctoral Researcher to work in the research group of Professor Klaus Nordhausen in the Academy of Finland-funded project “Signal recovery in noisy spatial data”.
The Postdoctoral Researcher position is for a fixed term of 3 years, starting on January 1st, 2025, or later as agreed. The work of the Postdoctoral Researcher will focus on developing dimension reduction methods for multivariate spatial data which might be also of functional nature, especially in a blind source separation framework.
The successful applicant should have a doctoral degree in statistics, mathematics, machine learning, or other relevant field, and experience in developing and applying statistical methods in computationally challenging problems. Prior experience with blind source separation, spatial data or functional data is considered an advantage but not compulsory. The deadline for submitting the application is December 12th, 2024 (23:59 UTC + 2). For more on the position and applying, please see https://jobs.helsinki.fi/job/Helsinki-Postdoctoral-Researcher-in-Statistics/808077102/.
The Doctoral Researcher position is for a fixed term of 3 years. The starting date is flexible, but candidates who can start in January 2025 will be preferred. The work of the Doctoral Researcher will focus on developing novel blind source separation estimators for multivariate spatial data under different signal and noise configurations together with tools to estimate the signal dimension.
The person chosen for the position is expected to have a Master’s degree in statistics, mathematics, machine learning, or another relevant field, or they must be able to finish the degree/education before the start of the doctoral researcher position. Candidates who do not currently hold the right to pursue a doctoral degree at the University of Helsinki are eligible to apply, but in the event of hiring, they are expected to acquire the study right during the 6-month trial period in the beginning of the employment. The deadline for submitting the application is December 12th, 2024 (23:59 UTC + 2).
